We brought along the car charger just in case but did not need it throughout the whole movie. She watched about 30 minutes into a second movie when it needed charged. The remote has all the necessary buttons to turn it on, mute it, fast forward etc. It also has connections if I was to hook it up to my tv or computer to watch a bigger screen.
